Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)
Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)
The key to measurable product sustainability
ECO-VOX is expanding its portfolio and now offers professional creation of Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs).
At a time when legal reporting requirements (such as the CSRD) and customer demands are constantly increasing, the carbon footprint of your products is becoming a crucial metric. A PCF is more than just a compliance exercise—it is the basis for identifying emission drivers and tapping into strategic reduction potential along your entire value chain.
What you get
Five steps to a valid PCF
We create your PCF according to a standardized, ISO-compliant 5-phase model based on the ISO 14067 standards.
Goal definition & scope of investigation: Definition of system boundaries (e.g., cradle-to-gate), functional unit, and project plan.
Data collection & inventory: Collection of company-specific primary data (material, energy, transport) and comparison with secondary data from the Ecoinvent database.
Life cycle inventory: Preparation, plausibility check, and assignment of data to process modules; consolidation into a product model in the software.
Impact assessment & CO₂e calculation: Calculation of greenhouse gas emissions (CO₂e) per product and per functional unit based on ISO 14067.
Interpretation & communication: Analysis of emission drivers, derivation of concrete reduction measures, and creation of management reports and PCF fact sheets.
therefore with us
Expertise meets technology
As your external sustainability officer, we take on the entire project management and methodological responsibility.
Methodological reliability: We guarantee scientifically sound and comparable results through strict application of ISO 14067 standards and use of the Ecoinvent database.
Technological excellence: We work together with our partner ECOSPEED AG and use ECOSPEED Product Software. This platform enables ISO-compliant, automated, and auditable calculation and scaling of your PCFs.
Holistic consulting: Our expertise in sustainability reporting, audits, and materiality analyses ensures that PCF is seamlessly integrated into your overall ESG strategy and CSRD reporting.
our efficient approach
Transparent and scalable
Our approach is geared toward creating a scalable methodology that can be used beyond the initial products.
Piloting and validation: We start with a pilot phase for an initial product to test the database and model logic before expanding to the entire product range.
Automation (API): We prepare the interfaces to enable future automatic PCF creation directly from your ERP system. This allows you to quickly balance new product variants in the future.
Transfer training: We provide you with comprehensive documentation and train your project managers so that you can apply and further develop the PCF creation process independently.
That's why decision-makers are acting now:
Calculating the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) in accordance with ISO 14067 transforms sustainability from an abstract concept into a measurable management tool.
Competitive advantage & market access: Strengthen your market position by meeting the growing demands of customers and public contractors for transparent CO₂ certification. CO₂ transparency is becoming a mark of quality.
Efficiency & innovation: Identify exactly where emissions (and thus inefficiencies) occur along the value chain. The result is an objective basis for CO₂-optimized product design and targeted measures to reduce costs and resources.
The PCF is the basis for making the climate impact of your product range measurable and firmly anchoring sustainability in your corporate strategy.
